Land development has been a family business for generations. Our roots in local development date back to the 1800s when Louis B. Schilling was creating subdivisions in Chicago Heights, Illinois. In the early 1900s, he expanded his developments to Dyer and Schererville, Indiana. Two of his sons, Frank & Louis, moved to St. John, Indiana in the 1930s, where they continued the family business and ventured into other enterprises such as Schilling Lumber. Today, the family development business thrives under the Schilling Development name.
Schilling Development is based in St. John, Indiana, with ongoing projects in Saint John and Cedar Lake. Future developments are planned in Lowell, Winfield, and other communities. Schilling Development continues to grow, building some of the finest communities in Northwest Indiana.
